Bryce, Wings, Paint Shop Pro, and GIMP

I just got GIMP and I can tell you, it's a match made in heaven! I love this program, probably the closest I'll ever get to Photoshop without completely emptying my pocketbook.
Anyhow, this started out as a test render to play around with in GIMP. The render came out very well and so there is actually very little GIMP here. Ship is modeled by me in Wings, other miscellaneous effects done in GIMP and PSP.
Hope you enjoy! This is my first attempt at doing ANYTHING in GIMP beyond mere playing, so if you have any suggestions please let me know. Also comments are very welcome.

Everything I have seen about GIMP, and I researched it on the site, it is a great program. I have told many people to consider it. I am happy that you found it, and that it meets your needs! I love your space images! Very bold! Reminds me of classic SCI-FI novel covers! great stuff!

Dear Robert, What's GIMP? I take it's a post work editor paint program? I know, I need to get out more!!! ;-) I love the sci/fi image! It reminds me of a book I think by VanVogt in which their computer "wakes" up on the first interstellar voyage! This would bea great cover for it!! Love all the effect and the colors and lighting are wonderful!!! Excellent work!! Love, Meredith
