Description

In memory of all those that have lost their lives in service to their country. Including more than 1600 American men and women in Iraq, in the past two years. I will never question, or doubt their dedication and bravery, but I sure do question the reasons why they had to be put in harm's way over there.

Very haunting and evocative. Also reminds me of the O-bon festivals for the dead in Japan in late summer, early fall, when they set lighted candles on shingles and place them in the water (which I've seen). A fine tribute to our honored dead.

It's a sea of oil, if I think about it. Marvelous.

Simply breathtaking Dave. What a beautiful tribute!! If we could spend all of the money, time and effort helping eachother instead of killing eachother the world would be a much better place. I wish that EVERYONE could see your beautiful image. It might be the first step to better thinking. Thank you so much for this powerful, beautiful image!!! v
