Description
This peice was a ton of fun (and a ton of time) to do. The background (cavern&water plain) was created in Bryce5.5 by placing the camera deep in the cave and rendering it as a 360 panorama. The fun part was comming up with the right light/texture/reflection and refraction combo's. The finished product you see actually has only 2 "live" props ... as a scene gets more complex, I do a full render then pick certain objects to delete, then use the render as a new background. The end result is a realitively seamless blend of background to foreground composition. Sorry this is so long winded, but like I said the project was alot of fun and I wanted to share the 'expereince' !

Many thanks! I have a lot of fun trying to convey a sense of people working in very large scale/enclosed environments. This peice is inspired by the HitchHikers Guide to the Galaxys' concept of "Magrathea", the planet making factory. (If you havent seen the film, its a real hoot,and the books are priceless)
