Well.... if your perusing led you here, surely you're interested in knowing a lil bit about me....or not :-)
I'm Monica, a 28 year old wife of an Army soldier and mother to a beautiful and bright 10 year old daughter (whose also a budding writer and artist). I live in Olympia, WA as my husband is stationed at Ft. Lewis. BIO
My interests are vast and range from art, to fashion, to business to science to philosophy to, well you get the point.Although I'm trained in the legal field, I've always had a deep love for the arts be it music, the written word or otherwise. I'm no stranger to the musical world as I play both the piano and flute.
I love to write poems and short stories and would love to one day write a novel. My life thus far has been pretty damn interesting so perhaps some of those experiences could be put into word :-) I also like to draw but I can not for the life of me draw people, not even a face. But I can produce a kick ass stick figure though! lol. I'm a landscape/nature & fashion drawing person, I guess.
My venture into the digital world began about 5 years ago with web and graphic design. I was fascinated by the whole web designer thing and wanted to learn all that I could. So I bought books, software and anything else I could get my hands on and chatted with others of like mind. Before I knew it I was designing websites and other cool things.
Because we were moving to our first duty station, Ft. Campbell,KY (ummm, yeah; I'm not even gonna get into this one, hell pure hell I tell you) I had to put things on hold for a bit. Then, there was the talk of a war and they were indeed calling up all of Ft.Campbell. After my husband left for a year to fight in the war with Iraq, I found that I needed something to keep me "together" while it seemed like everything else was falling apart.
I remembered that I had purchased a 3D program, but never really used it so of course it was buried somewhere amongst all of my junk, lol. Well, I found it, dusted it off and loaded up this animal they called Poser 4 and well the rest is as they say history. Creating with this medium proved to be very soothing and rewarding outlet for me and I've been hooked ever since!
