Description

~*~ Night Bloom ~*~ Another pencil sketch computer enhanced. I used an HB graphite pencil on bristol 100lb. The picture was taken from a photo of night blooming flowers. I can't remember the name of this one, but it was magnificent and was 'calling' me. So I cut it from the paper and sketched. To enhance, I redid the background with the airbrush in PSP 9. (cleaned up the smudges), used the gamma adjust, Histriogram adjust and added the glow filter from the adjusting section. Framed and this is the result. Truely beautiful flower. Thanks to one and all for your lovely comments, for peeking in and most especially for your encouragements. as always Pat

My grandmother had a plant once calle a Night Blooming Cerisis or something similar to that spelling. It bloomed only one time that I remember. The flowers were like stars and inside the blooms looked like a cradle with a baby in it. Was a beautiful flower. This is a lovely sketch. Very well done. Hugs :)

This is beautiful Pat! My mother also had a plant like that. She called it her moon flowers. I don't know what the right name is either. Excellently done! :)

It looks familiar but as with others, the name escapes me. I like the iridesence you have given it. Do you know what colours the flower comes in? I know that many night blooming flowers have less colour than the daytime sorts [though not all] and instead they often have wonderful fragrances. It's a little lily-like. Now you have me thinking of posting some of the flowers I've done ... I don't often do flowers but I have always loved them. I have to say that you have captured the feel of the flower.
