Michael walked quickly, head down, hoping the girl wouldn't notice him. He always felt rather sorry for these street-corner prostitutes, reduced to making a living standing on the sidewalk, whoring their dignity out for a few dollars and a half-hearted promise to "get you outa here, kid." It was embarassing, what with his new clothes and her in this skimpy, salmon-coloured thing. But he glanced up to see the girl looking at him oddly. There was something a little familiar in her eyes, the shape of the face... Curious... "Amada?" he asked, stopping. Her eyebrows shot up into her elegantly feathered bangs. "Michael?" It was his sister, his *sister* standing there on the corner, his sister who he'd thought had disappeared several years ago. Funny, this world...
