Description

Looking through my early digital camera pictures and thinking of a water themes, I spotted this one of the Dorethea Quarry, Nantlle, Wales.
The quarry is now flooded (the area is used a lot by divers) and nature is slowly taking over the site - including the derelict Cornish beam pumping engine house which sits on a ridge between 2 quarries and is being taken over by ivy.
Looking at the picture the colouring reminded of sossy's pictures of Scotland, although hers are more dramatic ! Anyway, here's a little bit of Wales trying to look like Scotland 8-)
Cheers!

Lovely image! I truly like the theme of "going back to nature". Where I live are remnants of strip mining where mountain tops are disfigured and I wish those could return to the former state. alas. I agree, sossy has wonderful images but this one you have posted is a fine one. Good to see some of Wales here.

Hahah. This does have that Sossy feel to it. :) Must be a fascinating place to dive. I am so glad to see nature reclaiming it after man's abuse of the land. Great image you have here...the ivy on the building and the rusty mechanical arm sticking out of it really make it for me.

Oh... thats cool. The building reminds me somehow of another near here I often pass... And yes, you could say the image has a "sossy-touch"! :-)
