got tired of the guitar picture.BIOtime to update the bio. I'm still a freelance artist in Detroit and 2005 has been a very busy and terribly eventful year for me. I'm happy for the work, and consider myself lucky that i can work the way i do. I've been working for myself steadily (or not so steadily when times are lean) for over ten years. Or, as i'm told, i haven't held a job for over ten years.
I have two daughters, 7 and 11, both blessed with their own special gifts and abilities, and you'd think between the work and the kids i'd be too busy for anything else. But i still manage to squeeze in playing hockey regularly and playing guitar and sometimes performing as well as writing and recording my own songs when the muse won't let me be.
renderosity has been good to me, here i love to look at pictures, hear the stories, share my own. I've also met some wonderful people who have much to offer me professionally and personally. It's been a nice place to go to 'specially when my job has the tendency to trap me in my studio for weeks on end.
thanks for checking in. i appreciate it.

Most excellent situation there (love to see parents encouraging this sort of thing). I wish her luck and many happy years playing and singing. As for the photo itself, I don't think it should have been any other way. The effects you got without a flash are really unique. Like you said, looks like something out of the 60s. :) Well done.

Im so sorry I am so far behind. Im trying hard to catch up and busily slaying e-bots!! (What else is new??) Until I can get caught up, Im still going to mostly just be leaving behind my calling card. But Id also like to leave a suggestion with everyone. In the three months Ive been here at Renderosity, Ive made a huge number of wonderful friends that really mean the world to me. And Id like to share a technique with everyone. Take a minute each day and have a look at Whats New. Pick out the work of someone you dont know, pop it open and have a nice little look at what they have done. And dont just look at people that do the same things as you. Pick from all the different categories and programs. You will learn a lot and youll get new ideas for postings. This cross pollination will help us build more robust hybrid art. All of the Old Masters in art history spent a great deal of time learning from the Old Masters of their day AND from each other. If we do the same, our work will continue to get better and better. And sometimes pick someone that is just starting out and give them a hand share YOUR knowledge with a newcomer. And then send them a brief IM. Introduce yourself and tell them how much you like their work. Just by making the introduction, youve just taken the MOST IMPORTANT step toward making a new friend!!! Everyone will learn from each other and each new friendship is one more stitch in this Tapestry of Friends that is Renderosity!!! SO MAKE ONE NEW FRIEND EACH DAY!!! Love, Meredith PS - Great photo and great processing - it really sets the mood!! And congratualtions to your daughter. Performing can be tough!

sometimes the best images come out of poor images...I love creating something different in them myself.....the mood created here is perfect...

Just loved this image even before I read your words... as my son too plays the guitar ( his second "real" guitar was a combined middle school graduation/multi -holiday many birthdays worth of gifts in the form of a Martin.... I have been assurred my stairway to music heaven is already in place by my adult friends who are musicians!), and also handbells between the ages of 12 and now, I know the pride you feel as well as the frustration you have helped Shannon work through . It is a marvel to see and hear them find their way, and a mixed blessing to help guide and support with an even hand... sounds like you are all thriving in this new endeavor... How wonderful!
