Description

Some colors on newest achievement by Dmytry - volumetric containers of isosurfaces - with latest version of Volumetric plug-in of course :) Litle contrast postwork. Some nodes now can have really volumetric mean - like colors depending of distance from object's centre ;-)

If I made it not clear - its mojoworld privitive (sphere), that now contains volumetric isosurface, or so I've been told :) This is one of simplest effects...

Fun!:) Is this noise based or made of some math FG? Very nice colors too.

Armands I saw this on 3DC & was impressed how a simple primitive can be affected in such a way. I need to understand volumetrics better & I wanted to see if Volumetric trees could be built. I also want to learn how to build a Volumetric Hurricane for over a year now:( As people like yourself experiment more & more with Dmys plugin the potentials keep coming on & on :))

Very good colors! Some technical explanations: Shape is actually controlled by functiongraph that uses ObjectPosition. There is curve of distance from center, in "beyong input=mirror" mode, and it makes these "layers" you see. By itself it would make many cocentric spheres, which wouldn't be very interesting because inner ones would not be visible. To cut parts of spheres, boolean operation could be used. In case of isosurfaces, boolean "and" (i.e. intersection) can be done as "max" of two shaping functions. For example, you can use max with VectorElement of object position to cut spheres in half. Also, there is some "Rotate" node used to tilt 'em. There you can find some examples of this stuff: http://dmytry.ancientspledge.com/en/mojoworld/volumetrics_worlds/shapes/ Role of container: Container is just sort of box where surface is contained. Only part of surface that is inside container are actually rendered (and to see surface, you need to make this object invisible through Object List). Additionally, "Object position" gives you position as defined by container.
