Description


I took these photos of the cat, one with a flash and one with natural lighting from directly above. Both have merits, but: The one with the flash looks too bland and clinical, a cold white. The one with the natural lighting allowed the cat to open her eyes more but introduced a shadow under the chin from the overhead light. This was shot spontaneously at someone's house so I did not have any tools like reflectors or soft boxes. I think the natural lighting one is better. Please let me know your opinions.

Neat cat! I agree w/ you - the one on the right holds my attention longer. I have a thing for "highlights" and contour. This cat has really nice fur and it's brought out in great luminous detail on the second photo. THe first one is too flat and colorless. Vs the second which is vibrant and alive. Plus your model opened her eyes! :)

well, i really enjoy both!!! if i had to choose though, i'd say i like the first one better. :) not sure why...just do! :)
