My upload today is for Madeleine ~aka~ WandM to say THANK YOU for making me smile with every image of her cute tomcats for posting very creative work which is a great inspiration and also for her constant support and encouragement by her nice comments. You are a wonderful and warmhearted person and a gift to the gallery! Thank you, Madeleine! Of course it had to be a cat portrait for her :o) Together with my daughter I have visited an exhibition for pedigree cats (not sure if that is the right word) the other day. It has been very interesting and fun to take some shots. This one here is a so called MAINE COON The Maine Coon cats have their origin in the cold northeast of North America. Many legends climb around their origin. One of them also gave the Maine Coons their name: it's said normal, run wild domestic cats had mated with racoons. Thus, so the acceptance, they came to their half long coat and their fluffy tail. If you want to know more about cat breeds have a look here they show several portraits of cat breeds. Sorry it's only in German... maybe someone could tell me about a similar site in English. BTW my daughter asked a breeder for the price of one cat... it's minimum 550Euros... and they never sell only one... you have to take at least two cats. Oh was f eine Schheit mit diesen so wunderschen Augen! Auch das rosarote Nschen sieht so ss aus! Da muss man vorsichtig sein, dass man nicht den Bildschirm umarmt! LOL Brilliante Tieraufnahme mit dieser sehr aufmerksamen Katze! Hoffentlich sieht sie nicht Gerhards Eichhnchen! LOL Ein V ist ein Muss!!!

First a BIG thanks for your heartwarming dedication Monika! I'm very honored dear! This is a very expressive and beautiful portrait. very well shooted. Please tell your daughter not to buy these kind of cats, cause they always find a home. Better to take one which is already born but no money "worth". Just my 2 cents.

Excellent portrait of a Maine Coon! I had a cat that looked quite similar, same face and everything, and we suspected he was Maine Coon, or at least part. Beautiful kitties! :)
