Description

Just a little upload to show you all I'm not dead yet. I've been experimenting a bit. That little black dress Miss April is wearing is a conforming/dynamic hybrid. The rings conform, the rest of the dress is dynamic. Yep, I found out how to do it! The trick is actually quite easy. The dress is a prop, parented to the two rings, which are part of a conforming figure. The dynamic prop has some vertices in common with the rings, I constrained those vertices. The collision objects are the rings and Miss April. Took some extra time calculating the dynamics, but the 30 frame animation (no drape) calculated in about 10 minutes on an AthlonXP 2700+, still an acceptable calculation time. By the way, that dress has quite a bit of polygons. I'm going to do more using this technique. I'll probably put some new clothes in freestuff in a couple of weeks. Thanks for viewing, hope you like it, and comments are greatly appreciated. And if you have some ideas how to improve on this technique, please let me know! Looks fantastic! I'm doing my first steps with dynamic clothing too. I read your helpful and way important tutorial and although being washed up with the first non-dynamic test models I successfully used your stuff. I'm hoping that you're going to teach us to use hybrid models too. ;o)

wowww is wonderful, really it is! There's a thing I real love about your way to be and I think is right to tell you about... You share your knowledge with others, which is something I haven't seen done by anyone yet; is something real remarkable, and I thank you for this way to be.

Whooohoooo more svdl original designs S this one is truly stunning S (perhaps the shoes should have been black to match the dress but thats just me LOL) The dress looks fantastic - cant wait to see what you'll be putting in the freestuff (although I havent had much luck with the dynamic stuff - always have trouble with folding it to the character - but thats just something I have to work on S) - Fantastic!!

The dress looks great. Not sure why the rings should be conforming and the dress dynamic, but my guess is, so the rings dosn't stetch. What I have of your dynamic clothes (all I could find) is working great and with them I learned how to use dynamic clothes, thank you.

Impressive!!!! a big knowledge you have about the inner of poser! this kinda things i was tryng to do sinse a while with no success at all! the cloth room is a very powerful thing but not all the clothes fit into the scheme, but this way i thing that the kind of clothes working in the simulator are almost anything! i cant see very well the ring details but sinse my POV they looks perfect! maybe folding the latest polys ( an extrussion maybe) around the rings to give the seams sensation would be a nice touch. anyway is a wonderful render and a gorgeous dress! Excellent as usual, my friend!

That's a clever technique. I only recently discovered dynamic/conforming hybrids, and this has given me food for thought.
