Description

Hi all, As many of us - considering the number of people having modelled it -, I'm in love with the design of the Audi TT. I thought about to create on in 3D too, but dont wanted to create one more "3D picture of a TT", so I launched out in his 'dilapidation" :-) . The power of the C4D multipass enabled me to do a large post-prod work on the unit, shades, lights, textures, ... Feel free to comment !

I'm not going to jump the "excellent bandwagon" here although I think it's a fine modeling job. I think the textures fall a little short. I'm sure that the front end of this car is either fiberglass or plastic which would eliminate the rust on that part as well as the aluminum wheels. I also think that either some reflections or specular enhancements would really look nice on the glass. I'm sorry, I really do think you've done a nice job here.

Audi TT's body is made out of Fiberglass and does not rust. Do a google search. The paint may chip but that's it.The modeling is good and an interesting concept but far from accurate...

Fabulous work. Love the rusting look. Some folk are just too pedantic.

Fantastic work. Excellent texture work especially. I recently got BodyPaint R2 to go along with my Cinema 4D XL/Dynamics and I can't wait to dive into BP.

BTW people, giving positive criticism of an image - ie offering tips or hints as to what could be wrong or offering improvements, is NOT trolling, and people who think so have fragile egos and should therefore prevent any commenting on their images in future. :P As for the image, pretty cool. But yes, fibreglass does NOT rust...and besides, the image is under "Virtual Realism" is it not? Ergo, fibreglass should not be depicted as rusting :)

Yep there would be no rust at all as for the texture i think it is not very well done with keeping in mind that it looks as it has sat there some time you would thing in a setting like that the windows would be busted out and paint cans on the ground and a little more the ghetto look about the rest the image you might want to make it sit on the ground a bit better as it allmost has that floating look JMO

Get rid of the rust color and give the exposed parts a fiber type shader or texture. Not only that but the shadows are off a bit and could be better matched to what you see falling on the wall in the BG picture. The whole car also looks a bit washed out in comparison to the background, and you can clearly tell where the real world meets the 3d. Nice model tho.

Thanks to all for feedback ! Seda : you just have to use the alpha channel to create that kind of spray panting ! Few words about the rust: I know that a TT cannot rust... I did not seek to make realism, but virtual reality. Here is the way I thought about the pic: Using the 3d to make an old and rusty TT, by working the concept until the limit of the caricature. I could just work the glares and the wear of painting, but I thought it wouldn't be so interresant graphically speaking. So I preferred to use freedom and "no limits" of the 3d to go further in my idee. Just the magic of the 3D, without anymore pretentions... For myself, virtual reality is what could be real, without existing, contrary to realism. By reading your remarks, I must certainly be mistaken.... if only I had been able to find a cathegorie "car"! : -) Anyway, it's always good to read you, and i thank U all for comments ! ;-) And please, sorry for my bad english....

Hi. Apart from it being too rusty the shadow looks wrong. Maybe a little more diffused. Pedantic lol.

I dont care if the TT is made of fiber or not. It's just an amazing render of a rusty car. Congratulations !

I think the rust is good fun. It doesn't bother me that in the real world the TT won't rust. I'll give credit to the folks who think otherwise though, because the comments I'm reading above are certainly well-informed and interesting. The only thing that has me confused is the number plate. Is it back-to-front or is it Russian or something?
