What I am about to tell you is a true story..because it happened to me.
August 8, 2004. 9:38 pm.
Upon arriving at work on a sunday evening I was about to start up the shift on which I worked. Me being the supervisor, it was my duty to make sure everything was started up and running. That was when I noticed that one of our industrial dryers was not plugged in....so I plugged it in.
That was when 480 Volts of electricity passed through my body, entering my right hand an exiting my left hand.
Luckily the only co-worker that was there with me heard me screaming, and upon seeing both of my arms and hands blackened and smoking (with flesh hanging off of both) quickly called an ambulance.
Upon arriving at the local hospital, the doctors told me they could do nothing for me, I was burned to badly. So I would have to be life flighted to a Special Burn Unit in the city.
After I was inserted with IV's and tubes (put in places I would rather not mention) I was off on the helicopter.
When I arrived at the burn unit they proceeded to peel and cut off all of the burned flesh from me. And yes..thay cut off alot. For I had 3rd degree burns to my hands, forearms and biceps.
Dont know why I wanted to tell you this story, but it is something I think about.....Everyday.
This is a true story.....it happened to me.

Damn man, how are your arms now? Have you fully healed, do you have full functionality? That must have been like hell. I can't imagine what it must have been like.

Well my arms are much better now. But I do have nerve damage that causes my hands to cramp alot. Other than that, the doctors did a fantastic job with my skin. Just looks like I have alot of white blemishes on my skin.

God bless you-I think that this image is very useful for many reasons - but the most important reason is this : To drive home the fact that it doesn't matter how tough you think you are - how many wars and battles you've seen - how strong you are - how worldly you are - how experienced you are in life, We are ALL essentially helpless - we are ALL at the mercy of fate - and we ALL need one another.Love people and treat them well - because NOBODY on earth is indestructable...
