The original image was a drawing by Sandro Del Prete, here is a very bad scan (or something) of it: http://ww.metajedrez.com.ar/images/pintura/delprete.gif Sorry I didn't mention that in the original description.

It's going great, keep at it! The only suggestion I have is to focus closer on the chess board. The background is immaterial in a picture like this, so fill your frame with the centre of attention :-)

Excellent Escher style image...agree you should fill up the scene with your subject...mostly 'cause I want to see it better :)
