Description
I think this is one of the more interesting photos taken by my father. All it says on the back is the bringing a balloon over wires. After I scanned the photo I put 2 arrows pointing to the wires the man in the swing seat was maneuvering over, I hope you can see the rope or cable that he is dangling from, unfortunately the Balloon is not in the picture I hope I have sent it large enough so you can get a view of the man. I do not know the significance of the horses however if you look close you can see a Army Man riding on the one on your right I assume they were using the horses to pull the balloon I do not know, I sure wish I did. I wish my father had taken more time to describe some of these pictures. I wish I had known about them when he was still alive. But he, like I am sure many of the doughboys in World War I were not any more vocal about their exploits than the ones in World War II or Korea or Vietnam. Also as I said before, our generation and our fathers were not close at all and had very little communication with each other. And as I recall growing up in a small Wisconsin town all my buddies had the same relation with their fathers that I had. I am now 80 years old and if there's anyone out there looking at these photos in my age group let me know if they had the same relationship with their fathers as I and my friends did growing up.
