Description
As my Surfs up picture seemed to strike a cord, following a watery theme I thought you might be interested in this shot.
Taken at Lake Inari, Finland at 5am, the cloud cover and stillness of the air, combined to create a mirror effect on the lake with an almost black and white look to the scene.
Within 5 minutes of taking this picture a wierd 'line' seemed to be moving across the lake from the direction of Russia (distant right), it turned out to be the morning breeze which broke up the surface of the lake, blew the clouds away and the whole mood was gone!
This was taken on a camping trip around the top of Norway, Sweden and Finland in July 2002, the weather was quite hot and as it never gets dark in the summer you don't seem to need much sleep, I ended up taking pictures of semi-sunsets at 1 or 2 in the morning, followed by amazing mornings at 5am!
This picture has been scanned from a print, hence the grain, think I will try and get the actual negative scanned to see if I can get a clearer, sharper picture.

Thanks for that story. What a wonderful moment you captured here in this photo. I definately love the serene mood and stillness, and the way the figure's head just touches the line of the shore.
