I hate to disagree with Andreas but this doesn't look B&W to me! That's what I love about it.It looks very neutral and that allows the textures to show themselves to their fullest.A wonderful contrast and composition.You should be proud!

I'm just wondering what a 90 degree clockwise rotation would do to this... sure there's a bit of gleam on the feather's south end... but it's a very nice shot... contrasty in colour and texture.

"Not so sure"? Guess i know what you're talking about but in this case, i feel you can be sure. Perhaps cropping it somewhat tighter? Wonderful light and that "opposites" are well seen and wonderfully shot. Well done in capturing all the details in the feather and the wood. So .. be sure with this one :-)
