Brilliant work - I love the idea of using a displacement map for the tears - very creative

Love the tears - well done. IMHO, I think you would get far more realism without the translucent effect around her face. It works for her right ear, but I doubt anyone would have that effect showing on the left side of their forehead. It gives the effect that there is a huge amount of red light coming from behind, which I don't think is the case. I love Elle's face shape.

What a truly great character! She looks beautiful, even bald! Great render, Neftis, but I must agree with face_off about the redness around the face. Is this fastscatter, or are you using simple translucency with a defining map? Either way, if you think about the translucency of actual skin, only the parts of our bodies that don't have a lot of bone mass get this much redness from a backlight. The skull, for instance, is a large bone mass that would prevent this much scatter from being noticed in such locations. Our ears and nose, however, which consist mostly of cartilage and flesh, would show much more translucency. I hope you don't mind this lengthy comment, because I really do admire your works, and I think this render is extremely well done! :-)

This really is one of the most amazing renders I've seen. It's more perfect than a photograph, crisp and clear but the texturing is awesome. The turtleneck shirt is great, too, it adds to the drama. The whole image says 'theatre' to me, for some reason. Nice!!

Good thing for P9's new SSS, while it's not mental ray, it still beats the crap out of fastscatter! This piece still looks great in spite of that "node"
