Yes it is I, ebsmooth, undercover of course... I scrapped the old gallery due to inconsistencies in quality and format. I wanted a more presentable, professional looking gallery. I submit the EricSBauer gallery for your viewing pleasure. BIOWith my camera I bring to you the gritty and sometimes dark side of life, the everyday things that are often overlooked. My mission is to find echoes of the past and give them a voice in the now, to find the beauty in all things "ugly".
Tools used:
Nikon D70 18-70mm
Nikon Capture 4: all I use this for is the handling of the RAW files. It can be done in
Photoshop CS but there is more options in Capture. This step consists of exposure comp and white balance adjustments where needed.
Photoshop CS: all files are converted to Lab Color to unsharp mask the light channel then its back to RGB for conversion to black and white. For this step I choose a channel mixer adjustment layer for the simple fact that I can make changes to the .PSD file if needed or if I wish to see the image in color. After all that I add a border, nothing fancy or elaborate, just a simple white border to emulate what the prints will look like.
The above steps are the same for every image I do post work on. The settings I use vary from photo to photo and always to suit my personal taste.
Prints of all my work are available for sale. If interested just drop me a line and arangements can be made.
And that's my story, what my photos and I are all about.
Thank you for your visit, it's very much appreciated!

I like the image format which gives it a widescren effect. The composition is also very good as is the conversion to B&W. On a technical point, I might have tried burning the the far right building as I feel it is still a little to light when compared to the rest of the image, for the eye wants to exit at that point, rather than to return to the image. Have a great weekend.

Good cropping , and something desolated ....Super mood .I agree with egmont for the last point, but it's not so important!

when i look at it (have it as my desktop wallpaper) that building only factors in a small part, out of the corner of my eye do i notice it. my focus is dead center then outward from there... i tired to darken it but had no luck, didn't look right!!!

Ok...what the hell happened here? Gallery got blasted to Kingdom come and now a new gallery? None of it matters, main thing you are posting and still in top form here...This one is killer also, wish my town had more interesting things to see at night, without all that yellow light...just washes out everything...Kewl pic here...makes me want to go out once again...Aloha!

a lot of solitude and decay in this place...and the three "giant" give a lot to this shot! amazing work and an excellent photgraphic eye!

...your b&w's remind me of film noir and of long bus trips across the USA I took many years ago....the bus would run through deserted cities and towns through the middle of the night -- everything always deserted - and because I don't sleep well on buses - I'd always be watching the buildings and strange factory structures we passed by - half in a dream world -- saw some amazing structures and would have loved to just get off the bus and wander with my camera --but that was impractical ---- very nice evocative work.
