Description

I have read so far, that these crab spiders are flower spiders, and some of them can change colour to match surroundings. I was making a shot of some wild roses, but this proved much more interesting - not to mention smaller! I note she has added some webbing to the bud, no doubt for a better grip launching-surface. Too bad about the big pink petal in the foreground corner, this was really just a lens test and I liked this one even though it is not a points-winner ... Made with a Canon Rebel Digital, and Canon 50mm EFS macro lens, and I gave it the usual Photoshop treatments for a JPEG version but I didn't have to kick it very hard very many times ~ it seems this lens is really nice.

Yes I'd first rotated the tiniest amount and cropped off most everything that was out of the depth of field, which was a lot of pixels, this lens had given enough detail so I still had this much picture left; but I would have to paint or clone out that huge pink petal if I wanted to get more serious with this one ... she had herself set to spring a little more, when I started, but had begun to curl and get ready to run when she realized I was all over her so closely ... these crab style spiders do wait forever, wide open, and then snatch a prey; I have pics of one, who was coloured only in shades of green, and lived awhile in my marigolds, she had only seven legs also, and in one shot - she had nabbed a mosquito !!! and was feeding off of it ~ good girl !!!
