I have always wanted to be an artist, there is a lot to learn, hopefully I have the basics to create for the enjoyment of others.
The picture is of Bob Bondurant and I, when I picked up the race car from his school in Arizona.BIOMy beginnings are in photograpy but have not really done any work in 20 years. I am getting somewhat close to retirement and have found that this is one of things I would like to get back into thru digital images with either a camera or rendering. I want to do this for my own enjoyment and relaxation, hopefully others will see my work as I do.
I also race cars and collect them. I have four race cars but my favorite is racing my 1995 Bondurant Ford Mustang GT which I have been racing for 3 years.
My other hobby is racing HO slot cars and have been racing them since I was 8. I am still racing them with much enjoyment. Some of the guys I race with has been a comradery for some 20 years.

I believe these are flowers from an asparagus fern.

Also, if there was any wind, a slight movement could have caused a loss in sharpness. At this size, a little movement goes a long way. Still, looks like a great lense that I know you will enjoy once you "tame" it. Looking closer, it looks like there are some parts of the flowers that are in sharp focus. Remember, your DOF will be quite shallow at this magnification.

The learning is greater than the image, sometimes. :) I think it is a great image for a first time use of a new lense. It is better than what I would do! Keep trying though, and lots of good advice above.

Off to a great start - macro lenses takes a lot of practice to start producing pictures of consistently high quality - but once you do you'll love your new lens. Keep up the good work!!
