Description
Just a photo for interest.
This giant burr oak lives in the Missouri River bottom lands just south of the Eagle Bluffs wetlands area near McBaine, Missouri. It is said to be 350 years old, is 84 feet tall, has a spread of 116 feet, and a trunk circumference of 272 inches.
I've parked my Jeep right next to it for scale. It's a well known landmark, locally known as "The Tree"

Magnificent! The only way it could be improved would be if there were no sign of man in the area (i.e., the Jeep, the road, construction dirt-piles, etc.).

OH MY GOD!!! That is the biggest tree i have EVER seen...WOOOOOOOW!!! Dont agree with SBriggs, parking your Wrangler next to it for scale was a stroke of genious if you ask me. That tree would surely be 3 winters worth of firewood. Excellent and fascinating capture! Have a great day #:O)
