Dreamtime art... 19ft is a big one! I like how this goes from rust to cream into that circular ark. It reminds me of Gordon Bennett's famous bullethole work (Aboriginal Artist).

A great series. There are so many elements to this one, the semi circle, the bright rust spot and best of all for me are the tiny marks which look like hand prints. Top marks!!

Thank you Ian AKA:ifos, for noticing these tiny marks that also reminded me of hand prints on rock paintings and in a way lending scale to the figure. One should note that the hight of this wall for truckers with 18 wheelers to back into is 4 feet from top to bottom and we are shown all but 5 inches of the 4 feet as the light strip on top is the edge.

Great trivia there, I consider myself edified today. :) I see many different ways of interpereting the abstract shapes of this photo, but the one I keep coming back to is the scene of a dimember finger with bruised nail, pointing skyward and rising from the water like excaliber. Wonderful. And yes, the tiny marks do look like handprints, but also like the days marked on a wall by a prisoner...

looked at this one yesterday...now again...needed time to absorb and process this one. haven't read other comments. haven't read your intro...just goin' with the image. then i'll read what you say. since i haven't read your intro, i have no idea what the title means yet. when i look at this, i see a sword in rippled water. i see children's hands reaching up....they're everywhere...desperate for someone to see them and pull them out of the depths of hell that they're drowning in. i see bugs floating on the top of the water, oblivious to the screams. the white light eminating from the sword...this is a positive force. God. there is a nail with blood. a puncture wound that represents the hand of Christ. hope that in pain, in dying, there is resurrection and eternal life. in the bottom right third of the image i see a reflection in the water that scares me. i see its eyes. the heat coming off the sword with evaporate the water. the children will be saved. you have a wonderful eye, Egmont, and i love this image of hope. though it's frightening and reminds me of myself, i do see the light and the hope that makes it bearable. extraordinary find and capture!

You let this one "Speak" to you, and it shows! The cropping completes the narrative! We see the Wandjina, just as you do. You have communicated a story that transcends the mundane materials it actually consists of!! Transforming it into an ancestral spirit, glowing in our presence!! Brilliant!
