Description

I was working tonight on artwork for another up-and-coming Endgame album, A Witness To Madness. All the imagery for the CD's front insert and tray rear insert comes from a single past image of mine, given a slight tint. This is a detail of the original image, intended for the inside-front of the insert (some text will probably go on top). I realised I liked it enough as an abstract in its own right, so decided to upload it :-) Thanks for taking a look and for your valued feedback, it's always much appreciated... I'm not saying which image it came from but it might, just might, ring a few bells ;-)

This certainly qualifies as an abstract in its own right ... and quite fitting to the theme of the album. Very well done, indeed. Kudos!

Thanks :-) The album was titled because of an extraordinary piece of ours called The Telltale Heart, nicked from (and dedicated to) the short story by Edgar Allen Poe. A totally unique sonic collage, it really doesn't sound remotely like anything else any of us have heard! And we've heard a lot ;-)

Intense & beautifully dark abstraction Jim, love the colours, stunning artwork & even without hearing the music I'm sure it's just perfect for the CD!

hey hey... that's top! i love it... those subtle lines - all seems to float seems to bubble... seems to live... but still calm... a kind of "wise life" here... brilliant work, dear jim!!!

Yeah, now that's what I call "Synapse"! I would buy that CD only for that cover art. It's great, I will not write about technique and things like that, it's pointless, image really speaks for itself. Elegant, that's a good word.

On familiar territory here, in the region of "Avatar", I think. I can almost hear the music for this new one based on this image alone! The wavelengths of light coming from the image can be converted into the sonic vibrations of Endgame's music fairly closely :-) This is a full frequency image!!!!

Funny how we stopped putting "Warning - this is a full frequency recording!" after Avatar... that could apply to so many of our other releases I think ;-)

hm, interesting that as i saw the thumb, my first thought was "ooo, how aural"... so much of what i physically see wishes to translate itself more as sound than as visual in my head... and cripes, i don't want to buy the CD just for the artwork - i want it big enough for my wall [but i'm greedy that way :))]... it may be for a CD, but it is music in & of itself, this image of yours...
