Description

I'd taken this picture a while ago but I've never been happy with it. The original colour image didn't look particulary interesting, but there was still something about it that made me want to work on it further. I'd tried various ways of converting it to Black and White, but many of them introduced alot of noise into the picture and I was very dissatisfied with the results. And then today I noticed a post in the forums about Black and White conversions, and one of the methods mentioned (a conversion method by Greg Gorman) worked really well and didn't introduce any significant noise. Having got the base Black and White image I wanted, I then turned to Levels and Curves to give it a high contrast and really bring out the clouds :) I hope you like the results. Please comment and offer up any suggestions you might have that would improve this image. Thanks for looking! Adi P.S. you can find the forum articles here (click me).

...very bold ! -- has to be the best windmill shot I've seen -- takes it out of it's normally seen context -- and gives it a hard dramatic look .
