Description

TARDIS-SPONZA ------------- Created with: - Bryce 5.5 (rendered in) - Photoshop (overall colour changes, borders, credits) ================== Freebies Credits: ----------------- * Sponza Atrium (it's the main architecture in the image) (c) Marko Dabrovic http://hdri.cgtechniques.com/~sponza/ - various file formats - * TARDIS by Imrie http://www.vanishingpoint.biz/ (TARDIS (c) British Broadcasting Corporation) - POSER - ================== About: ------ This started out as a playaround from downloading the freebie Sponza Atrium model which was being used in a radiosity competition over at the site I got it from. But I wanted to do a night image because I like the way lights play over things. The addition of Imrie's TARDIS came a little later when I was inspired after watching one of the new Doctor Who episodes. :-) This little project didn't really turn out how I wanted it to but I'm done with it now because the rendering time was hogging up my computer and I needed it to do things online. The BRYCE render kinda washed things out from what I wanted so I had to spruce the overall colours and gamma levels in Photoshop. The credit note to Marko Dabrovic on the image is required. NOTE: This image was made for my own desktop and is best seen with a monitor set at low brightness levels, which is actually most of the time for me when I'm online at night with tired eyes. ;-) Z.

Ah, it's always cool to see when that particular TARDIS model appears. I'm thankful Mick Imrie was graceous enough to let Little_Dragon and me adapt his .3DS format to being more Poser friendly. The lighting is intriguing. There's a source in the left balcony casting light onto the lower right wall while there seems to be light shining from an archway in the lower right. What activity is taking place in those two locales, I wonder? Has the Doctor already exited the TARDIS, only to become mired in court intrigue? The setting certainly invokes curiosity. Sincerely, Bill

;-) -- Thanks for the comment Bill. -- BTW, the Sponza Atrium is in essence a closed box with an open roof but it includes a second floor. (there's no rooms, stairs, etc.) - What I did with the lighting was to suggest that there was more to the Sponza Atrium than there really is and that there's unseen activities occurring. (somewhat like the TARDIS itself ;-) -- Should I return to this image project in the future (no pun intnded) I might probably add a Dalek lurking about in the upper floor. ;-)

Nice lighting and modeling! The only thing disturbing my critical eyes is the sky, wich looks out of place. :)
