Your image makes a great point. The verses you cite are among my favorite argument stoppers, telling us that earthly governments have God's authority to act on His behalf; and, by implication, that they are answerable to Him for how they use (and, often, neglect or refuse to use) that authority. I wonder how many police officers and other government workers truly see themselves as God's ministers, with all that implies? I wonder how the world would be different if they did? I would love to see this good reminder hanging in every police station.
