You cooked a nice terrain here! The surface layer distribution IMHO looks too random regarding the colour scheme. The lava looks very "postwork" on my screen.

No postwork was done here. Strictly messing with water. Need some helpful hints since this looks like a good start to me at least to my un-professional eye.

that my terrain? I have to admit this never crossed my mind :) I agree with the others that I like the sky and that the surfacing could use some work - a bit too random on the right and too solid gray on the left. That effect with the water is very unique, it looks like the reflection is making the bright orange part of the lava. Cool technique.
