I always see these flowers by the side of the road or on the hillside, so I had to get a closer look, not sure exactly the name, maybe someone could help me out??? enjoy the colors...

They do look like California poppies to me too, and they do grow wild all over the fields and roadsides!!!! beautiful capture of them, and those pointy things, are soooo cool, wonder if it's the before or after bloom????? excellent!!!***
