Description

Thanks for viewing !! :o) Greenbottle, Lucilia caesar. Bodylength: 8 - 15mm The Greenbottle has a metallic green body and silvery jowls below the hairless red eyes. Adults feed on nectar and carrion juices. They fly at all times of the year, including mid-winter, when they can be seen basking on sunny walls. The maggots feed on carrion, including scraps of meat and fish consigned to the dustbin. Found in a wide range of habitats, and common around houses, yet rarely venturing indoors. WHOA!!!!!!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just amaze me Jeroen!!!!!! You should see my pics. sigh I tried takin' pics of bees, flies, spiders, ants...every single image SUCKED! i did do halfway decent on a dead insect my niece Jessie found for me. sigh. oh...i got this cool lookin' red lizard or something. he was sooooo cute. can't wait to show you! anyway, this is MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow amazing creature up close!! All of the little hairs and the silver on his face looks almost like armor! How strange...wow Even your ripply little leaf edge has tiny fibers. Just incredible photo!!! (Also very funny title and the way he has a curious look...hehehe) ;-)
