I love the chined nose gear tires to keep the runway spray out of the engine inlets. The bright color reminds me of my first DC-9 ride on AirWest in 1966. I never can remember anymore if it was Harold or Howard Roberts who designed it. Anyway, he was partners in a 35 foot catamaran with my first office mate at Douglas Aircraft.
