Description

This wasn't intended to be a religious statement, so excuse me while I make it into one. The image was just your average house on a cloud picture, but then I remembered a recent interview I saw with some ignorant, close-minded American preacher. He had put a derogatory statement about the Koran on the marquee outside his church. He said something like, his Bible was the only real word of God, therefore all other claims were false. Therefore, mistreatment of another religion's holy book didn't bother him. He mentioned that he preached in "The House of God"..... Hmmm, I don't claim to know where God resides, but if there was a literal House of God, I doubt if this yahoo (and many other so-called religious leaders) would be allowed on the backsteps. Myself, I neither believe, or disbelieve, I just wonder a lot.

Great statement, a good reminder to the holier-than-thous among us :D

More people have been killed in the name of church, religion and gods than any other cause. Of course, there are bad and good in all religions. I only illustrated the one example of ignorance. Many wise words have been written about belief and faith and when followed to the letter, many work quite well. It's when the words are twisted to fit a crusade, or jihad that things go wrong.

Now I must know what God looks like. Is he wearing overalls or sporting a braided beard? What I REALLY want to know is where the elevator is :D Honesty though, I believe that all religions should be respected. Don't they all claim to be the one, the only true word? I know mine does. Maybe they are all just different interpretations of the same word, give or take a few important sentences?

Oh what a fluffy cloud, God is lucky he lives above the clouds. It sure beats living with a clouded mind...religion and politics...it's like buying a house...location...location...location. I wonder too, and I like it better that way....(=

You'd think there would be a stairway to heaven, wouldn't you; but a rope ladder? :) (The rope ladder is my favourite bit, if you were wondering.)

Jesus Christ sufered on the cross for the remission of all OUR sins, that meas Muslims, Jews, Americans, and every other culture on this earth. If any one wanted this free gift of salvation, all you have to do is believe with all your heart that Jesus is alive, and ask Jesus Christ to come in to you heart and life, and follow his teachings by reading the bible, the book of life. If we all just learned the lessons that Christ left for us. I think things would be better. Also I do agree with all of you that there is alot of people who judge and condemn others. We should treat one and other with love just like Jesus did. It is a wonderful drawing. I really enjoy it. And you capture what the ladder represents. The original sin that Adam and Eve committed on Genisis 3:6, that separeted all of us from God.

I also like the rope ladder idea. And the fact that God lives in a sort of toon-looking house. I remember when I was a kid and someone at church told me that the church was God's house, so I asked where his bedroom was...

I am with you on this Frog!...I especialy like the commical skew of the windows and such. I also love it when others think my nickname has some kind of bend towards religion. Agnostics are people, too!

You've obviously touched many people here. Respect others (and their beliefs) for only then can you truly respect yourself. Great image, by the way!

That's a loooooooooooong ladder.... Nicely done! And I agree with you on the closed-minded preacher. I'm agnostic/nonreligious myself. I don't have much against religion itself -- like you, I just don't like closed-minded superstition, and those who try to rule people with it.
