Description

While I was out walking a few days ago, I looked down at the lokal airport and noticed that a Boeing 737 was being pushed from stand - so I hurriedly set up my tripod to get a series of pictures during and after takeoff. The top picture is a few seconds after takeoff - I was particularly happy that the plane's shadow was clearly visible on the end of the runway. The lower picture shows the plane against the clouds covering the top of the leftmost mountain, it was shot maybe 30 sec after takeoff. As you can see from the bottom picture, the view can be magnificent (if only the weather is clear). In this instance, however, they disappeared into the clouds before they reached the mountains and didn't get to see anything but grey clouds (from the inside..) Addendum: Since a lot of people ask where it is -> Molde airport - where Molde is a tiny town on the west-coast of Norway.

Good idea these photographies. I like in particular the second one, with the boing disappeared in the clouds over the mountains. Excellent shot !

Just perfect timing. Great shots both of them and the view IS fantastic. I espcially like the second one as the plane is about to disappear into the clouds. Looks dangerous but I'm sure they know what they are doing. Where was this taken?
