Je länger man malt, desto mehr ist man Lehrling The longer you paint the more you are an apprentice.

Brief introduction: SaintFox is
-a woman born 1962 at the north sea coast of Germany.
-moved to the german midwest in 1996
-to a small town that offers a lot of medieval inspiration
-has at least two souls
...and about the nick: It's a mixture of my haircolor and a tattooed fox cub that I wear and that looks so saintly as a vegetarian. As long as I can think I enjoyed being creative - and I always loved learning something new! As I had my first look here I so much wanted to do images like the ones I saw in the gallery. But it took me several years to be brave enough to post my first image here. After all I do not understand anymore what made me hesitate so long... I'm a professional artist/illustrator, not at least because of the permanent encouragement of the "Captain of my heart", he's my muse, my secretary, my "wonderwall" against those things that are able to disturb creative processes so easily. Most of my work is published by a german gallery in Gelsenkirchen and available at my own homepage, too. In late 2005 I wask asked for my first collaborated works and so I finally found a second profession in doing my own characters and textures what enables me to give my images even more personal style.
Whenever I start to work on something new - especially when working with characters - there is a moment when the bundle of polygons and pixels suddenly seems to look at me from the other side of the monitor, it's the moment when my creations get personality. This is, at least, what I like to "transport" with my products: artist tools that are able to inspire the people that work with them because they have a kind of "virtual soul".
A woman under influence
Major influences on my work come from other admired artists and music. Some of my favorites: Jan Vermeer van Delft James Jaques Tissot Rembrandt van Rijn Hajime Sorayama Olivia De Berardinis Marcus Gray Herb Ritts Helmut Newton Alberto Vargas Ricky Carralero Gerald Brom ...and, regarding the feelings that I have when doing my characters: Dr. Viktor Frankenstein! Music: Too much to count, alternative and classics preferred but sometimes it has to be soul or jazz, too. The second large influence are people I met here: They comment on my images and help me to enhance them, they share their knowledge and finally some of them decided to involve me in their projects. For me (as I grew up in the before-internet-age) it's still some kind of miracle that people are able to work together independent of where they live.
...and, before I forget, the strongest influence during the last years came from some lines I read about 15 years ago:
Beauty is an experience, nothing else. It is not a fixed pattern or an arrangement of features. It is something felt, a glow or a communicated sense of fineness. What ails us is that our sense of beauty is so bruised and blunted, we miss all the best.
D.H. Lawrence

Great work!

Beautiful image. The story is extremely sad, though. It never fails to astonish me when humans are so barbaric and cruel...especially to those we profess to love. =(

I love this Image!!!!

Gets my vote! Excellent image and idea and superbly carried out. The only thing that bothers me a bit (other than the cruelty and stupidity of people) is the hair over the ears - from the front, it looks like a layer of transparent solid material. Wonderful work!

stunning image.

Okay, jc, you're right - my husband said the same. Seems there is no way to add hair and doing no postwork... I'll fixed this, it bothered me too!

Mee too, Saintfox, me too ;) But you might beat me... I can see nothing- For me the picture was perfect in the other version too, but if you can sleep better, WITH the changes it is ok ;P I just say "....the eye of beholder" ;) SeeYa

Beutiful image. I totaly agree with your oppinion. Anybody should be alowed to practice whichever tradition they chose, but no one should be discriminated and especially killed if they chose to follow something different. It is our basic right to chose what we want to belive in. It is unfair if people do not have that basic right. I understand that there are people around us that find it almost impossible to accept something new and different. Imagine if we were not allowed to chose what we belive in, we would not have any creativity and this wonderfull community would never exist. I say bring on the freedom of choice and creativity!!!! =)

Kudos to your render, which is excellent, but even more to your word - intolerance of every type was, is, and i fear will always be, one of the major problems of humankind!
