Description

Hi everyone!!!I took this shot the other night when I was in the city to film Pascale's amazing pic. While waiting for dark, we stopped in Bryant Park for dinner. Because it was a gorgeous night we got to eat outside the restaurant,in the park...Mmmmmm!!!!Oysters and bloody mary's!!!LOL!...Any way,as we were leaving,I peeked inside the doors and had to snap the bar as the colors were amazing.Just had time to snap this before an angry hostess informed me that no pics were allowed!Oooops!!! Any way, except for attempting to sharpen it with unsharpmask,(didn't work, lol) and curves, this is the exact shot. And I kinda like it.Looks like I didn't pass the bar,LOL! I have to thank Andreas for framing it for me.I tried for 3 days and finally gave up.Thank you sweetie!Because of you I still have some hair left on my head! Hope you like it!And thanks as always for looking!-Marlene

I like the fact that it is out of focus. Reminds me that many of the customers must see it in exactly the same way. Wonderfully evocative image!

A fantastic shot Marlene! If it were sharp it would be just another picture. It's perfectly wild like this! I imagine the picture blurring even more around the edges as the field of vision moves back and the patron focuses on the bar.... seeing almost flames dancing in the lights at the periferal edges... Wow! Awesome wild and flaming lights here...perfect for a wild night out on the town. ;-) Excellent framing and I love the title. :-) Vote

Marlene, this one reminds me of a charcoal drawing i did a long time ago....uh...except it wasn't very good. your image has a Cubanism feel to it...not sure exactly what it is and i'm sure everyone's gonna think i'm off my rocker...but i SEE it!!!!! Really...i look at this and see all those wonderful lines, but it's the bartender that does it for me! i look at it though and see music...see a maestro ready to engage a symphony! out of focus but i sure have enjoyed looking at it...and well...isn't that the point! you see the Cubanism aspect to this, Marlene??? i know it doesn't LOOK like the typical Cubanism...those heavy black lines though...and that man...gonna have to come back and look at this one again! i really love it! :)

The blur and the drawn out movements of the bartender reminds me of several bars that I've visited through the years :) and the lights look great - excellent!

If you had been able to sharpen it, then it would have destroyed the beauty. First of the bartender is in movement and that is the point of interest and so the background being soft adds to the movement. Also because of the glass and lights, I feel this shot work very well and the colours are great. As for the hostess with the not so mostess, she needs to get a life! Glad you got what you got!

Aw, no worries. My pleasure. I told you this earlier that i love the way it looks. And no way you could ever sharpen a photo like this even if you wanted too. Too much going on. The colours are just incredible and the captured, blurry movement of the bartender is simply the dot above the i. Are ya sure the hostess "had you removed" cause of your camera? It wasnt cause of all the Bloody Marys you had been gulping? Have a marvelous one #:O)
