Description

The Manjak Hammam, dating back to 1372, is a prototype of Mamluk architecture. The baths were from the outset destined for the use of pilgrims . The earliest reference to the site of BOSRA, in the lists of Thutmose III, c. 1334 B.C., is to be found in the exchange of letters between Pharaoh Amenhotep and the Kings of Phoenicia. BOSRA was also a stop-off point for Muslim pilgrims heading to the holy town of Mecca The original theater, which has been miraculously preserved, seats 15 000 and its stage is 45 meters in length and 8 meters in depth The stage

these were baths??? wow!!!!!! i'm glad! at first i thought they were some kind of cage or pit...like maybe they held people captive in there. sorry...i have a bad imagination sometimes! anyway, it's a BEAUTIFUL capture!!!! i LOVE bricks!!!! enjoy learning the history too! :)

Tr bizarres, ces bains en forme de sarcophage .. intessant de voir comme les civilisations d'autrefois mettaient en avant la propretdu corps et la culture de l'esprit :)) il me semble qu'il y a quelques ids intessantes ici :))))
