Did you model the discovery all alone? It's really well made!

There was a file out on the web that I found of the Discovery 1, after viewing the file and taking some of the ideas I decided to rerender the entire ship in Bryce4 using that and pictures of the actual model that was built from scratch by Scott Alexander which by the way is 11 feet long. The pictures that Scott provided were superb and very accurate to the original model used in the movie. Actually the model Scott produced was more accurate than the model that was used in the movie, the movie itself had 2 models to choose from, a 54 foot model for closeup and the 11 foot model for distance shots. So the answer to your question is "YES" I drew this from scratch in Bryce. The file itself is over 300 megs. I hope this answers your question. David

What about adding a different tecno/metal texture? Otherwise it's a nice job.

attileus, there are no texture used, all parts are drawn. The only textures that are used if you want to call it that is white, black, gray and a little gold. I take it that you never saw the movie 2001 A Space Odyssey? Remember that you do not want to use dark colors in space because they obsorb heat. Hope this helps. David ;-)
