Description

Apologies for yet another dark image. I'm a nice guy really!! Back cover to a collection of fantasy stories. My previous image is the front cover image so had to be same theme. As always created in Lightwave and Photoshop. Any comments appreciated.

I've been told that images can get much better than this, but I will have to see to believe that one... this is absolutely stunning in the simplicity of the elements and the composition, but the beautifully crafted details are awesome. Three thumbs up, my friend. :o)

Gets my vote! Very powerful image! Strong lighting and composition enhance the amazing modeling and materials. Great color. True respect for negative space allows the no-detail shadows to work perfectly - pretty rare in itself. Every little bit contributes to understanding and to meaning. Super well done! Damn, can't think of anything that needs improvement (maybe less obtrusive signature?, a bit of volumetric lighted dust in the air?).

This would make an awsome Metallica album cover. Excellent work! (vote)

It's a pretty kewl concept, though improvements could be made. Give the staircase and corridor some gaussian blur/DOF, it'll keep the perspective of the image fixed on the skeletal object. Copy the original image to another layer and use the "soft light" mask, it'll add an extra level of contrast to the image. Also some dust particles would elevate it a higher standard of kewlness. -Vyrias-
