Description

Even in the days of Hannah, Toth, Kern, Annee, and Gelli, the dwarves were a dwindling race already diminished by the diseases of man and the ravages of the orcs. Driven from their caverns by the latter, they had joined forces with the humans against their common enemy. Several centuries later, after much warfare, the orcs were reduced to insignificance and the humans, having no further use for their small allies, began to covet the few parcels of territory still held by the dwarves. It was not long before mankind turned upon them, beginning a viscious, no quarter war against the dwarves. The slaughter continued for nearly half of a century. Tor Kragehoos, the "High Place," was to be the dwarves sanctuary; the place where their race might hide and survive. It was not even completed when the last remnant of dwarves retreated to its round walls. Tor Kragehoos was a failed hope. Incomplete, lacking adequate supplies and food, none of the dwarves survived that first winter. The Tor was well hidden, though. It was several more centuries before some human explorers stumbled across the secret fortress. Only a few hundred mumified corpses populated the place. The Age of the Dwarves had come to a close. ******************** Credits: The top of the tower: modeled by Josef Silva. Rest of the Fortress and the bridge modeled and textured by me. All terrains modeled by me in Bryce 5.5. Sky created by me. Thanks for stopping by and looking; also for any constructive comments. Regards, Jeremy

Like the story and the image. The snow's a strange colour - is that just reflection from the sky? Poor dwarves - I'm on their side! :)
