Description

This is a wolf spider that I found a few days ago.It is most probably of the species Alopecosa Pulverulenta, but that can't be determined with absolute certainty without a closer look at its genitalia (that's apparently the only thing that separeates several common species in the Alopecosa family). It's body is about 6mm, and it is relatively common around here - they are often seen scutteling along the ground before your feet as you walk. Didn't bother to put up the tripod - it moves pretty quickly - so the dof isn't all it could have been, and I'm an impatient photographer (a bad habit that I'm trying to get rid of...)

Really great shot you have here. I know these guys/gals can be pretty fast. After all, they have eight legs...Love it. Aloha

Oooh you are brave to get close. Spiders are so scary to me but this is an excellent shot of this one! Interesting markings on him. :-)

Nice shot! But you can keep this vicious little creature. They bite and it hurts worse than a beesting. The DOF looks excellent to me. A fabulous capture.

Ciao Erik. Beautiful macro for a very pretty Wolf Spider ! I was thinking the same thing than Andreas (Zacko) and I'm surprised that you have this sort of spiders in Norway. I thought it was more a sort of spider living in countries with different climates than yours. Why do people always disgusted or afraid when they sey a spider ???? ;-)))) They aren't what they think ! I love them, and never kill the ones who live in my house !!!
