BobbyStahr aka Robert Purves was seduced into computers late in life(age 45) by a free Amiga 1000 that I needed to transcribe music with. When that was done one thing led to another and 18 months later due to a need for speed and Imagine porting over I jumped to a pc. Never looked back happy to say. I play no games, have no business software, just art and music. BIO I use Imagine a lot, Photoshop quite a bit, Vue6I PLE a bit also, and have played a bit with the free ver. of Cinema4D, and am recently enamored of the new TG 3 Free. I also write copious amounts of music in an awesome and inexpensive music writing software called MelodyAssistant, available at http://www.myriad-online.com The hyphen is part of the URL. Highly reccomended to anyone, musician or not. I got into art from sports at an early age when I discovered I was more into cooperation than competition...my mission statement is" Never go straight.....Go Forward...."

I beg to differ, that's the wall opposite reflecting in the mirror.

this looks really good, Bobby. The lighting is excellent. I think I would find a higher resolution picture for the rug though. It looks a little blurry.

Hay bobby, It looks good; only thing it the top of the vase is 'inline' with the top of the board wall strip. Multipass or signle render?... the shadowed areas are dark... are is it my screen settings here...

Fantastic work, Bobby! For the rug, here's a little tip that may or may not assist you. I made a realsitic rug a few years back (quite a few years, actually) by taking the bitmap I used for color on the rug, reducing it to a 32 color indexed color image, boosted it's contrast a bit, then turned it back into a 24bit image. I then used it for an altitude map, with a VERY small Y depth. The resulting 'bumps' lined up perfectly with the image on the rug, and it looked very real.

Clae..I agree, also the top of the corner shelf does that..single pass really..not enough ambience on the shadow thing..... pequod...actually I used the colour map, just duplicated and used it as an altitude map, but I didn't 'Y' it enough I guess..sigh..... Syrup...the mirror is reflecting the other wall of the room...it's 'really' a mirror and it's 'really' a room...LOL..thanx for the compilment tho..... thanx digger.........
