Description

In a long forgotten tunnel, deep below the pumpkin field, the dirt stirred. A shape pushes through the earth, slick and mottled with soil. It is a hand that slowly emerges out of the fresh hole, pushing upward until the opening is wide enough for a second hand to emerge. Both palms pointed at the ceiling of the tunnel, pushing harder, retreating then pushing again until the hole is even larger. A head appears and evil eyes rise past the floor as the creature is fully birthed from the ground. The dirt that clung to the oily skin fell off in cascading ripples, leaving the creature clean and gleaming. Its skin resembled melting wax the color of coagulated blood. The arms come up as the fingers clench, shivering as it called upon the Pumpkin King. As the air shimmered with evil power the wax skin on the creature began to change. Two appendages snake out of its shoulders, the tips producing skulls that laughed and shook with glee. The Pumpkin King was here
