Description
I was going to write about pro's and cons of semi-slr-zoom-camera's vesus d-SLR camera's, but that is an endless discussion. I made my choice; mostly on comparison of sample pictures of a lot of camera's. I couln't find the superior image quality of d-SLR over semi-slr-zoom-camera's. Zoom-camera's produce more noise at high iso-rates, but some d-SLR camera's aren't so good at that point either. If you want to compare sample pictures of camera's too: http://www.imaging-resource.com/IMCOMP/COMPS01.HTM.
You could compare f.i. a Nikon Coolpix 8800 with several dSLR's and see for yourself!
www.imaging-resource.com does a thorough on camera reviews in my opinion.
This will be my last post on: What choice of camera? Though I wouldn't refuse to work with a Canon EOS 20D and a dedicated macro lens when I'm not in the field. But hey, you/I cann't have it all :))
