Description


As the sub was preparing to dive again, the skipper of the HMCS Assiniboine was giving orders to ram the killer before she could submerge since the sub was too close for teh guns to fire upon... "Helm! Hard to port, port engine full reverse, starboard full ahead! Sound Collision!" Within seconds, the Assiniboine rammed the sub just behind the conning tower sending her to a watery grave. This is my Bryce rendition of that day, on August 6th, 1942.
