Description

Xenodream 1.5 What I see each day Lunatics are in command Now as yesterday Dirk With the title, I'm not refering to the well known WWI poem. This title is chosen because I live in Flanders and I see these graveyards each day. But if pressed for a poem I would use this verse from Rudyard Kipling in his "Epitaphs of the War" If any question why we died, Tell them, because our fathers lied.

Sweet, and befitting the upcoming day we think long and hard about those that sacrificed their lives to give us the freedoms we take for granted. Met and old man the other day, came to one of the dealerships I facilitate, I went to keep him company for awhile as the sales consultant was reading his new Accord (84 years old he is!) If you have ever seen "Saving Private Ryan", he is one of the lucky survivors from that fatal beach. I hugged him....(=

Reminds me of the cover of Metallica's "Master of Puppets", only this one is more impressive :D Beautiful tribute to the victims of the wars.

I did not know the meaning of your title until I read your caption but it reminded me of a veteran's graves. I had never been to a cemetery for soldiers until I visited one in Manila and it brought some meaning to how much of a sacrifice so many made to defend their country or the rights of others. I guess Flanders brings to mind Moll Flanders

Incredibly open and revealing. Powerful imagery of sacrifice in foggy gray and metal, arrayed endlessly through time - the silent somber past marching through the present into the future. VOTE

Stunning! I used to live near Arlington Cemetary near Washington DC. It was always a somber experience to go by there. This captures it well.

The first time I saw this I thought of the graveyards full of white crosses my mom 'n' dad took us to when we were in Europe. I was just a little girl, but I always remembered the huge field of white crosses. This seems to be a very nice dedication to those who died for a cause. V (:
