Description

Thanks for viewing !! :o) - Just my poor excuse for a birdshot. Today i start my second job. So, having two jobs now, i wont have as much time anymore for rr... although i will still be around :o) - Chaffinch, Fringilla coelebs The male Chaffinch is distinctively coloured, especially in spring when the dull outer edges of his feathers wear away to reveal the striking blue head and pink breast. In all plumages though, Chaffinches are easily told by their unique combination of two broad white wing bars and obvious white outer tail feathers. Breeds in woodlands, parks, gardens and hedgerows. Winters in gardens and farmland, especially stubble fields. The main sources of food for chaffinches are buds, berries and seeds. Beech mast is one of their favourite sources of food in autumn and winter. Chaffinches build neat round nests, using moss, lichen, wool, hair and feathers. The most common place to see them nesting is in the fork of a tree or a bush, where they produce typically four to six grey eggs tinged with pink and covered in brown blotches. Chaffinches are regular visitors to bird tables and hanging feeders, sometimes becoming so tame that they will continue feeding while you sit and watch them from close by. Such beautiful birds and it is amazing to me how you get the perfect clarity of color even when the birdie is hidden in the shade of the leaves...just amazing! :-) Excellent as always! Hope you don't work too hard and come visit us often Enmos! :-) VOTE

How perfect. I don't know how you manage to get such clear results when birds are sitting in the shady part of a tree. Gimme a hint? ;)
