Description
That's what you're thinking when you're up to your ribs in murky black water, and something big brushes against your leg. But you wouldn't dare say it outloud when you want eveyone else to go on thinking you're a tough girl, and you can handle any situation (no matter how thick the mud is, how big the unknown creature was, or how dark the waters are). You have to shrug it off like it's some everyday thing, and not let on that you damn near wet your pants - lol. It was some great fun though - pushing the boat through all that while holding the camera up over my head so it doesn't get wet. I'd do it again just for kicks *grin*.
I'll try not to bore you guys much more with my vacation pics, and I know swamps aren't generally the vacation spot of choice, but for me, I think it was the closest to heaven I'll ever get, and I had a hard leaving it all behind. *hugs* Janey

Personally, I think swamps are awesome for their variety in scapes... yeah, they can look threatening but just turn a corner and there's something breathtakingly beautiful :) Sounds like you had a blast.

This looks like paradise to me, but then again, I love frogs! lol! A very brave attempt on your part to capture this fantastic image! Great shot! I can only begin to imagine the difficulties involved in wading all the way out there with a camera. Is that a Sasquatch out there? :o)

We got a place just like this up the road aways...except ours has the special artist quality of having old shopping carts and car tires strewen about and the shoreline is decorated with broken beer bottles (gotta love the human presence in nature's bounty).

Well except for the mosquitoes, I've heard you can find some beautiful things out there in the swamps. This picture shows some lovely example of that! Anyway, just as long as YOU had fun, that's all that counts! V (:

Well.. As long as there were no leeches you should be good..LOL This image reminds me of the movie stand by me. But you had me cracking up when I was reading your story.. and That is hilarious!! I can picture myself doing something a long the lines of that.. Im glad you had such a great time though=D, I hope to see some more pics, definitely not a bore LOL

Great pic Jane. That place would be downright creepy under a blanket of morning mist. Sounds like it was a hard to get, too. I'm pretty sure everyone else wading through the swamp was thinking the same thing as you.
