Description

Let me explain the title a little. I noticed that sometimes butterfly is a synonym for girl and I thought it was the perfect descriptor here. Inspiration from my sister and friend for this one. It is summer here where we live, so this scene offered a nice change for us. To help lighten the load of the humidity and heat. :) I'm not particularly happy with this one mainly because I do not have the Aiko morph set. I wanted to morph my own character from her, particularly the face. I purchased many items for her though, so I feel it a waste to not use her! This is actually my first background I created from scratch and created in Poser though. Simple but I am happy with the background for now. I did some postwork, particularly on the staff - it looked terrible in the original render, my attempts at fixing it aren't much better.. At least it's a prettier color now. I converted the V3 skin to Aiko for this, made my own hair texture for the hair, lighting as well. The pose is based on a freebie that I altered for this scene. Credits are below! *Rant&Concerns: I haven't been here very long, but I have noticed a great deal of harsh elitism on Renderocity. I am not going to point out specific examples, but you can see it in most of the forums, comments on artworks, and on actual gallery images/posts themselves. It has gotten to me. I have been very relunctant to post here lately because of it. I suppose people will judge my works and I anyway. I am happy that I have had a little support from others, many who are learning just as I am. I can't escape bigots though and I will never get used to their ugliness. *sigh* Leah Hair by DAZ Crystal Mage by DAZ *Edited to add blizzard effects - new lighting that is less green and casts better shadows - chainmail texture has been bumpmapped and looks better.

As much as you doubt the strength of your skill here, know that I find this rather impressive. She's beautiful and youve done really well :)

I think it's nice too :) I hope you don't let the bigots get to you, I myself have hardly any comments on my gallery, but that's probably because I'm still a n00b. It could also be because quite alot of people here seem to like lurking or have no opinion of their own. Only thing on that picture that seems to dispell the 3d effect of the background, is the way the shadow falls onto it, it might have been better to take out the second shadow? But that's just my 2 cents :/

Thank you all. :) Vebhe, thank you for the tip. I am in the process of rerendering her now and I think I will remove the shadow on the background. I am also fixing the chainmail texture myself and creating a higher DPI version. I'll probably post it separately soon to show my progress.

She looks great, your texture is awsome! Blizzard effect is stunning. You are very talented! (p.s. There will always be losers who try to bring others down to build themselves up. Don't let them get to you! I've met tons of super talented and supportive people here. And I count you among them. Looking forward to your next post!)
