Kamino is situated some 70,000 light years from the Galactic Core, south of the Rishi Maze. This ocean world, which is constantly covered in storm clouds, is home to the Kaminoans, a tall, slender, and elegant race of expert cloners. They take great care and pride in their cloning programs, especially for creating clone armies. They are responsible for the creation of the grand Army of the Republic that fought during the Clone Wars against the Confederation of Independent Systems, and subsequently turned against their Jedi commanders when the Supreme Chancellor/Emperor issued "Order 66."
